NET CYBER HEADS: Technical specifications and integration guide

NET Cyber Heads are ready-to-use enclosures that combine Gas sensors and signal-processing electronics. These units function as either integrated components for Gas detectors or as standalone field devices.

Applications for Manufacturers and Integrators

The Cyber Head series is engineered for OEMs and system integrators seeking to streamline product development. Utilizing these pre-certified units eliminates the need for:

  • In-house sensor development or sourcing.
  • Designing firmware for signal linearization and temperature compensation.
  • Mechanical engineering of the detection head.
  • Managing the ATEX/IECEx and IP certification processes.

Integration and Communication Protocols

The NETC3 series provides industry-standard interfaces to ensure compatibility with existing controllers:

  • Signal Outputs: 4 20mA analog and RS485 Modbus digital.
  • Power: 12-24 Vdc supply range.
  • Configuration: Dedicated PC software and connection boards are provided for calibration and parameter adjustment.

Gas Detection Range and Sensor Technology

The units are fully configured and pre-calibrated for NET’s comprehensive detection range:

  • Infrared (NDIR): CO2, CH4, Propane, other Hydrocarbons, Ethylene, SF6, refrigerant Gases (comprehensive support for R1233zd, R1234yf, R1234ze, R134a, R32, R404a, R448a, R449a, R452a, and others).
  • Electrochemical cells: O2, CO, NO2, NO, H2S, NH3, Cl2, SO2.
  • Catalytic Pellistors: Detection of flammable Gases.

Enclosure Options and Environmental Ratings

Classified Areas (Hazardous Zones):

NET provides ATEX/IECEx certified stainless-steel flameproof (Ex d) enclosures. These include a sintered metal filter for safe Gas entry (II 2G protection). An optional adapter is available for combustible dust and IP65 requirements (II 2GD protection).

Safe Areas:

A modular plastic enclosure (IP65 rated) is available for non-classified environments. The design makes it easy to open, allowing for sensor replacement at the end of its operational life.

Mechanical Fitting:

  • Front: External thread for mounting accessories.
  • Rear: Three thread options available to fit standard detector housings.

What are the primary output options for NET Cyber Heads?

The devices support 4 20mA and RS485 Modbus outputs.

Are the sensors replaceable?

Yes, the enclosures are designed to be disassembled, allowing for sensor replacement without discarding the entire housing.

What certifications are available for hazardous environments?

NET Cyber Heads are available with ATEX and IECEx certifications for II 2G (Gas) and II 2GD (dust) protection.

How is calibration managed?

Calibration is performed via PC software and dedicated connection boards that can allow users to modify settings and maintain accuracy.
